About

Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m glad you’re here!!

I’m a 20-something Minnesota native living in the San Francisco Bay Area, MBA in Sustainable Management, health and nutrition nerd, former bodybuilder, designer and marketer, major foodie, and climate change optimist.

I started this blog to document all the ways I can find to make more sustainable food choices. Food is the #1 cause of climate change, and we all have to eat! I hope this inspires you to make sustainable food choices in your life 🙂

I’ve been passionate about food since high school when I started watching the Food Network. Watching chefs cook and talk about food gave me the confidence to get in the kitchen, learn the basics, and get more and more creative as I went along. I quickly became hooked–food is so special!

From farming to flavor, from food history to food science, and from cultural food customs to how food brings people together, it’s amazing how much is involved in making food, yet how little we have to think about it.

Around three years ago, I left my job as a furniture designer to pursue an education in sustainability. I felt that we needed more people to create solutions to the challenges our world was (and still is) facing. Climate change, water scarcity, income inequality… These are all huge problems that felt insurmountable. At the time, I didn’t know how to help, which is why I decided to go to school and figure out how I could make a positive difference.

By making more sustainable food choices, we can absolutely make a difference!!

If you have any questions about sustainability, food, or whatever, I’d love to hear from you! You know where to find me 🙂
